Our Roots - Honoring the Cannabis Legacy
Co-owned by Omar Price, Nicholas Hall, and Ronald Atkinson, 82-J was born out of a deep connection to Buffalo’s Eastside community and a commitment to honoring its cannabis legacy.
The name “82-J” pays homage to Omar Price’s roots—he was born on the bathroom floor of apartment 82-J in a housing project on Buffalo’s Eastside. This area was at the heart of two of Buffalo’s most historically significant cannabis legacy neighborhoods, East Ferry and Box Street. Despite its cultural richness, the community faced systemic over-policing and a host of social injustices. 82-J was founded to reclaim that narrative and provide a safe, equitable space where the cannabis legacy can evolve with dignity and purpose.
